I dont know why but when i hammer the gas really hard the SES light comes on. When I start the car its off and drive around its off but when i punch it it comes on. I have been running it on regular BP gas and some of silver but now its premium again. Please give me suggestions on what this could be. Thanks. Also all the vacum lines have been replaced so i dont think its those. Cheers!!!
The "thing" is as simple as a paper clip. Jump the "A" terminal of your ALDL with the "B" terminal and then count the flashes of the SES light to determine the code(s). The "longs" are the tens digits and the shorts are the one's column. Your FSM will provide trouble shooting charts for each of the codes. The cause of a code isn't as obvious as it would seem. For instance, a code in the EGR circuit (code 32) doesn't necessarily mean that the EGR valve is bad. Don't shoot the messenger. Trouble shoot rather than throwing money at a problem. If you don't have a FSM (Factory Service Manual) get one. You will need it for working on your car. A Chiltons or Haynes doesn't have the details or the trouble shooting charts you will need.
Thanks your one of the smarter people that dont flame on me for not knowing very much. Ill do that this evening after classes let out
I won't pick at you for not knowing that much about Vettes, either. I'm not an expert, but I've owned my car six years and have learned tons of info. here.
