I was wondering if these things stretch and would it even matter if they did. I like the way my tranny shifts when I set the adjustment a little tighter than specs. The only problem with this setting is the throttle body butterflies aren't able to open all the way up. Anyone understand what I'm saying? I thought maybe the cable is stretched or something. The trans itself operates great at this setting. What do you guys think?
Depending on where you live, Cable might not be your best option...you might get better reception and even a better deal by going with a Satellite provider.
My TV Cable broke off when I pulled the transmission, it was like $30 to replace and a pretty difficult job.
They don't stretch, but will eventually break, because its touching the block right next to the distributor and is very close to the transmission. I would leave it alone, mine was probably fine for another 50,000 miles had I not tweaked it.
Your hood release cables on the other hand should be replaced at around 10 years old. They are known to break and are easy enough to replace. $32
