Default Bleeding Slave Cylinder

I just installed a new slave cylinder on my 95 ZF. I can't seem to get the sponginess out of the clutch pedal. What is the proper way to bleed the hydraulic clutch system ? Stupid question : Can I leave the cap off of the clutch fluid resevoir while I am going through this proceedure to make it easier to add the fluid when the level goes down or do I have to put the cap back on each time that I add fluid ? Thanks for any advice !

On my 87 you needed to bleed it before it was attached to the bellhousing. The end with the bleeder screw needs to be tipped up so the air will rise when bleeding.

I think the 95 slaves are different than my 87, but even after bleeding my 87 clutch slave, it had air in it and we gave up. Four days later, when I got in it to go to work , the clutch was perfect. The air had slowly worked its way out. I think there is a bleeder screw on the 95's , but not 100% sure.
