I need to replace my EGR valve on a 90. What is the recommended gasket sealer for the Plennum / Runners etc. A sealer that O2 sensor compatable? That was good info on the previous thread. I think while I'm under the Plennum I will change all those lines.
Thanks, you guys always have the answer. Two heads really are better than one.

I didn't use any sealant on my plenum/runners when installing them. It's not needed but if you are doing it anyway, I believe The Right Stuff is O2 sensor friendly.

with RRT Vette, no sealer on the plenum or runner gaskets. I did my 91 over the winter with the Felpro gasket kit. Now if your thinking of pulling the intake also, then you would want to use sealant on that.

I like to use a small film of RTV on gasket surfaces. Not necessarily for sealing, but to make it easier to remove the gasket in the future.
The next guy (might be me again) will be thankful.

I use a bit of "The Right Stuff" to hold the runner/plenum gaskets in place, but that is all. I do find that even after a few heat/cool sessions the gaskets will tear upon disassembly and I will have to replace them.

No! No! You don't want to use on the runners or plenum gaskets. If you want to use some, I use Permatex ULTRA COPPER it is senser safe and it's high temp as well!

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Matt
