Default new problems...

Well i am a NOOB but can some one please answer me this....

Can the car run without a computer? I cannot seem to find it any where under the dash. There are about 10 connectors disconnected under there... and several added wires.. i am so dumfounded that one would not simply fix the wires but just re run new ones!!!

I may have to break down and buy a new wiring harness for the engine compartment and re do the whole thing. a major undertaking!

Anyone with any experience in this that may have some helpful ideas would be much appreciated.

thanks
chris

the ECU is under the dash, way under the dash... on the right (passengers) side, up near the fire wall.

get under there and look up, you should see a whiteish piece of plastic with 2 bolts (10mm). remove them and the ECU should slide out.

When you remove the pass side hush panel, look straight up and you will see the ECM vertical held up by 2, 10mm bolts. You will have to give a tug on it once the bolts are out. I have no good suggestion on relocating it. It's in a pretty easy spot to get to and only takes 5 minutes while drinking a beer to get it out. I can't even imagine what nightmare it would be to deal with relocating all those wires. Good luck
