Alternator going bad?
when I start the car, there will be a buzzing that seems to come from the rear speakers, and it is related to engine speed. It is not affected by the volume control and when I shut the radio off, it stops. It will do this for 3-4 minutes after the car starts and then is fine. This is an 86 with the stock Bose stereo. I am wondering if is an alternator going bad and giving off some RF noise when it is charging the most or just another Bose issue.

You have symptoms of a poor battery connection too! First, disconnect the battery cables (neg first) and clean the cable lugs, battery posts, and bolts and replace the cables (neg last). You want your battery cable connections to be like your lover, bright and tight!
