It was just a spin around the block, but its been months so I was pleased...
Not smoking any tires yet, but progress still. I have a new ECM on its way to replaced my hacked up one, so maybe that will help my hunting idle, or at least I can hold out hope till it arrives...

As I was re-lashing the valves, the mail lady dropped of my new (used off Ebay) ECM. So I moved the memcal over and installed it. After the car warmed up, the idle stopped hunting and settled down, so I guess there was more wrong with my old ECM than just the TPS reference voltage output.
Anyway, I'm going to quit for the day while I'm ahead. Tomorrow I think I'll drain some coolant off, re-install the 58MM BBK, reset the IAC and take her for another spin.
Thanks everyone! I think I'm almost ready to take her down to the Dyno for the datalog and final tune. Soon we'll see if all the time and money was worthwhile.
Good to hear.It sounds like the IAC may still be an issue but run it and let the ecm learn before playing anymore.I was happy to assist I have not done it much lately so I hope I was some help to you.The Idle with the IAC un plugged should be ~500+or- But I have read some threads on the 58mm needing this type of treaking. Now have some fun.
The only sad news is that I have a bad case of clackty clack on the driver's side valve train that makes me think I have a bad lifter there. I tried re-lashing all the valves, and the problem is still there. I did install a new set of CC-850 lifters during the upgrade, but one of them may have been a dud. I'm going to try one more time to isolate the offender before I pull the intake again.
