Pics of the new intake, carb and scoop. The guy at the shop has me totally turned around. He is a great guy! He is hooking me up with 3" pipe all the way back for the cost of my radio. I mean really, he is trading me for the radio!! Sure I spent $500 on it but thats about what the price of a new exhaust costs. So its really kinda even, and he is giving me a cd player...well I know thats a whoopdie doo. For all the work they have done he is only going to charge me $400 in labor. Pretty good deal for all the stuff they have done and are going to do.
It should be done by friday and ready to drive home Here are some pics, the intake and all are not mounted yet as you can see by the plastic still on the intake.
Thanks, yeah an alignment is deffinatly in order. I have been telling alot of people I have to get that done. Its on my to do list when I get it back to the house.
Well with the hood closed the scoop should be the only thing showing but we still dont know for sure. If its close we are going to use a spacer so we clear the hood with the scoop but if its too tall then the carb will show more. I cant wiat until its running again. I also cant beleive that this car was making 360RWHP with stock exhuast minus the headers! That problem will be solved soon enough
Man, I am still excited about this! With the 3" exhaust and eliminating the cats, that will open things up alot! I just cant wait to hear it fired up for the first time with the new exhaust system. Ear to ear
I dont know, its not EFI. I am not really worried about it though cause the car is over 20 years old. I will have to research it but the most I would have to do is install some proformance cats. Good question though.
Its ALIVE!! I got to drive it today with no power steering and no power brakes. Got to the first red light and it died on me. We then got it back to the shop. It was just a test run and its running rich and needs tuned plus the exhaust is not on it yet. So when its all G2G I will post up a video
Yes I am. I should get it back today 100% done! Will that happen? I have no idea. The guys at the shop have been helpful but at the same time they sometimes seem to not know what they are doing. I know they know alot about cars but vettes however I dont think they do. This weekend the reason the power steering was not working was because the eliminated the air pump without a kit to do so. So what happened was the belt was barely touching the power steering pump pulley thus no power steering. Anywho, they are taking care of buisiness and getting stuff done for ALOT cheaper than a normal shop so I cant complain. I cant wait to have her back
