So I just purchased a new project car. its an 87 vert white with red interior. the body is in emaculate condition and the interior dash and the carpet is perfect. the leather seats are just about gone. The car has been sitting for 3 years, with no regular start ups or anything. They owner's stoped driving it when it would drive for about 15min then after getting hot it would just turn off.
I believe its the modular in the distrubtor that has gone out, its suppost to be replaced very 70000miles and thsi car has 99k miles.
I need help with making a list of things todo before attempting to start it. I know i've got to get the gass out the old oil replaced, fluids etc. anything else??
also does anyone have any idea of what else might be causing this car problems?

After you've gotten the old stale fuel out of the car, and changed the other fluids, begin troubleshooting. Break the problem in half. Check fuel pressure at the fuel rail, and check for spark to the plugs. Work your way along from there. Don't throw parts at it until you've isolated the cause of the fault, unless your wallet is overflowing and you love frustration.
Post more info here when you're into the troubleshooting process, and you'll get lots of help.

lol ok cool thanx. well the reseason i think its the modual is b/c i've asked a few shops, Corvette specific shops, and they've all come to the same conclusion. and its only like $40 so i'm think about just getting to make sure its not that.
Don't know where you're at, but if you have an Autozone they will check the ignition module for free...just make sure they cycle it at least 10 times, they need to be hot for an accurate test.
i know this is a really really really (impossible) long shot, but is your build number for the the vert 104493????
where would i find that? part of the vin? or is it on the firewall? sry if this is a dumb question. also i couldnt tell you till saturday when it arrives at my house
what would it mean if it is that build #?
Yeah, its the last few numbers of the vin, dont worry, nothin bad if it is..... i just need something checked on that particular car..... long story, which ill explain if it is the car (which it probably isnt)
