Default Choppy dyno

I just got back from the dyno with my 93. From 0 to 5000 it is nice and smooth, from 5000 to 6300 it is very choppy, does anyone have any ideas. Everything has been replaced opti, wires and plugs. By the way she made 347rwhp and 334 ft lbs of torque.

Thanks

Fred

It will help a lot if you post the graph. Since you have covered the other things, I would say it could be your coil, fuel pump, or fuel filter, maybe even cloged injectors?

Everything you have listed has been covered. I will have to figure out how to scan and post.

Mine was really choppy when the A4 was going out. Now it is nice and smooth.

Try an MSD 6a box. I dunno about you, but imho 5000-6000 is pretty high rpm...usually HEI's fall off around 5000rpm, so...but with the Optispark, it's a little better quality..but still, you never know.

347/334 is pretty good fred.
Just for fun my dyno last year showed 220 rwhp/323 lbs torque.
What were you expecting or hoping for?
Sorry, can't help with why it's choppy.

Jeff

Those # sound like around 425chp. I gain of approx. 125chp from stock.

If your ignition is stock, I think that might be the problem, but then again, I cant see much more then 350rwhp from an automatic with your mods, I think your doing good!

Now get some tires, and start running low 12's! You have the MPH to run solid 12.30's. I smell 1.70-1.75 60 foot's.

My guess is also valvesprings. Do you have roller rockers? If so it could be a lifter or fatigued springs. Also could possibly be ring flutter. I think in 96 the lt4 had a different ring just because the LTs had ring flutter over 5k rpm.

Hook up a fuel pressure guage to the schraeder valve and tape it to your windshield. go for a drive and hammer it in 2nd gear + and see if the pressure drops or gets shaky at those rpms. if so its probably the pump
