Any converter over 2000 stall should have an aux cooler mounted in front of the radiator.Just good common sense. The stock is 1695 IIRC and the higher the stall the more heat will be generated.

Default B&M transmission supercooler 70266

My new transmission cooler is installed. It is installed in front of the AC condensor. The lines are run straight from the metal transmission lines. Eventually I may get a Dewitt radiator and use both for cooling. For now I am not using the cooling of the factory radiator. So far on the interstate and in traffic I have not seen the trans temp above 189. With the AC on my engine coolant temp can get to about 200. Would this also cause the trans temp to increase if it was run through a new working radiator before the B&M cooler? Would it be better to keep it as is with just the B&M cooler by itself. If so I'll run larger lines straight from the radiator and do away with the metal lines. The B&M trans supercooler I installed is 11"x8"x1.5", part number 70266. It fits perfect in front of the AC condensor and seems to be doing a great job cooling. Thanks to Pete and everyone else for the help.

The blockage is what I was going to suggest checking for until you brought up that that's what they'd found. Either put in a large enough cooler to use as a stand-alone or have the blockage fixed and hook up an additional one in the manner Pete mentioned.
