Default C4 LSX conversion ???????????

When using the S&P style motor mount adapters, does the rear transmission mounting surface(on a LSX) end up in the same location as where a conventional style sml.blk. chev. would have originally been?
In this case i'm thinking of doing the swap on a C4 Vette and would like to use the original ZF 6 spd-hopefully without doing any C-beam mods etc.
Also, are there any issues with bolting the ZF to the LSX?
Thanks again...
Dominic

the last time I checked? you do... it's a custom one off... I don't think anyone is making them yet.

mainly, because the T56 bolts up, a-ok...

The search function and taking the time to really read the posts will put you well on your way. We've gone though this and the info is getting to be pretty well consolidated.

Perhaps when I am finished and KP gets his done we can get two stickies to put these up top so they are easier to spot.

There is really no need to add the thread to the stickies, I have already included them in the C4 Tech FAQ as online references.

I will do this, move them into a new section called C4 Engine Conversions. That should help.

Now... if noobs would read the FAQs...

Hm... maybe I could get Frank to rename the thread?

How about "C4 Tech Summary and FAQ - Look Here First!" or something to that effect?

I HAVE read most of the threads in regarding to putting an LS engine in a C4 with a manual tranny. the general consensus i came up with is that it could be done because it will bolt up to a LS fine but the input shaft on the tranny is to short with a regular ZF and the input shaft is to long on the ZR-1 ZF trannys. Im curious if u could either cut the ZR1 ZF input shaft to fit or if you could rebuild either tranny with an input shaft that would fit. i didnt know if you could have input shafts made to a custom length if you are rebuilding a tranny

this has to do with the flange length on the block, and the relationship of the crank face to the flange.

I would think a ZR1 shaft could be made to work, cut down....

Thats what I understand from the TH400 to LS1 topics on LS1tech.

The trick would getting the flywheel and clutch to work.
