Default Quick o2 question?

I have a 94 with 84k miles. Have done all the basics to bring it up to par except for o2's. It get's about 15.5 mpg average highway and city. Occasionally it smells a little gassy at start up. Things done, plugs, wires, fuel filter, fuel regulator, oil, oil filter, air cleaner, radiator clean out. Is mrg, and occational gas smell normal, or is it o2 time. Thanks!

You should see better mileage than that! Unless your foot is really heavy! I'd change the O2 sensor on GP at that mileage, but to really check it you need to scan it and see if the O2 transisions are still fast.

I just changed all 3 O2 sensors on my '94 at 81,000 miles. I have, so far, seen a 2 MPG increase with mostly highway but some city driving, which equates to 22.7 MPG average. The old ones were coated with carbon build-up (white stuff). They run about $43 a piece. You'll need a 7/8" (I think) wrench to change them. My car acts the exact same as yours does, and I have done all the same maintanence that you have done, sans the fuel pressure regulator. I'm thinking it may be the EGR and/or PCV valve or a leaky fuel injector.
