Gas pedal movement left-right
Hi all!
My gas pedal travels not only forth and back, but also travels to the left and right a lot. Is this normal? When I shake it quick it starts to make rattle noise and it moves 1/3 inch to left and right from the middle position...there seems to be too much play in it, I think. I can't get the throttle lever to open full (WOT) when I try to floor the pedal as hard as I can. And when from outside someone pulls the throttle lever all the way to the throttle body stop, the pedal does goes down some more. This I can feel because I have my foot still on it when floored. It's like I'm not pushing hard enough, but that's really not it.
When the throttle valve cable is adjusted at a normal shifting position, the TPS only reads out like 3.8 or 4 volts when I floor it as much as I can do from inside the cabin, instead of 4.30 when the person outside pulls the throttle lever all the way to the stop at the throttle body. Would this have to do with the strange gas pedal travelling, and do you know how to fix the gas pedal travel?
