Default Need code from 89 eprom label

Could someone with a stock 89 computer tell me what code
is shown on the gray label over thier EPROM window in the ECM?

I need to find the stock numbers for the eprom code. It would also help if it was a California car. I have been doing some searching and it looks like that may be different.

The gm_ecm site has lots of code, but they are stored by the 4-letter label shown on the eprom and I don't know which is for an 89 vette auto from California. This board seemed like the best place to ask.

Thanks

not sure which one you have, but here's the info I have:

1989 auto 2.59rear APZA, APKD, ARAR
1989 auto 3.07rear Federal (non cali) APYZ, APKC, ARAP
1989 auto 2.59rear (EXC RDO) ASXB
1989 auto 2.73rear, 3.07rear Federal APZB, APKF, ARAS

gotta be one of those..... that's all that's listed in my parts book for auto '89 bins.

Marcho, you wouldn't happen to know the number for 1989 manual? (3.33 rear <-- does this matter)

Thanks! Thats great.

I don't actually have an 89, but I'm updating my 87's code. It's an auto convertible with Calif. emissions. So, If I remember right the conv. uses 2.73 rear? Does the "Federal" designation mean non-Calif. emissions?

Is there one listed for the ragtop's rear with Calif. emissions? Or, am I just mixed up here. I found several of those on the gm_ecm site, so it's looking very possible :yesnod:

Unless you just want the cali code for some reason.... I'd use the ARAP file. It's the most popular one for autos. Don't worry about emissions or anything, it'll work fine.

Thanks, I was just wondering about an emissions chip. I'm actually running ARAP right now. Seems to be working fine right out of the box. So, now it's on to fine tuning. Thanks for your help, everyone!
