Default BMAD-It works (pics)

Finally installed it yesterday, used a $5 angle finder from harbor freight, wound up a hair over 15 degree mounting angle.

Noticed:
-Driving around town cooled a bit quicker and ran cooler overall. Not a bunch, but noticeable on the gauge.

On the street or fwy gauge would read (before install)at the halfway mark and rise slightly above that before the fans would kick on.

Took it out on the fwy today, and it stayed at the 1/3 mark or so the entire 60 mile drive.

I think its worth it. Looks too!

On the 90Z's there is a rod halfway across the opening that braces a smaller air director. Removed the rod and drilled into the BMAD so the bottom spoiler retains its bolts in case I scrape (which I will).

BTW, its HOT out so Im pretty certain these results are valid.

Now I gotta wash all the bugs off the front end, played with a new Z06 this morning

Someone may have installed a clear bulb in place of a bad yellow one...for a better look, you can install orange color bulbs for the flashers and they enhance the color alot.
(unless im wrong and the lens is supposed to have yellow inside there?)
Been a while since I worked on these cars.

I like mine... it does seem to work regardless of what finite control the thermostat has over the temp gauge.

It was good for 2 to 4 degrees in 100+ temps at cruising speeds... Also noticed the when rolling the engine cool downs faster.

When averaging 156 mph for 90 miles I never went over 203 ( usaully ran around 194 ) and the oil temp never surpassed the halfway mark.

The only downside is you need to be extra careful if you car is lowered because it will scrape.

I have to fix mine, I've whacked so many curbs, that I think I'm impeding the airflow right now.

Cool, good to know.

Just picked one up on the group purchase and looking forward to getting it installed. My car is lowered so I'm hopin' to set it up for the least amount of "scrapeage".
