Opti Spark
I HAVE A 94 LT1 ALL ORIG. TUNED UP @ 70000 PLUGS AND WIRES AND ALL FILTERS.JUST INSTALLED NEW A/C FUEL FILTER. THE CAR RUNS GREAT 90% OF THE TIME . AT HIGH RPM'S IT BRAKES UP A BIT . KIND OF SPUTTERS BEFORE IT WANTS TO SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR.. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. IS IT THE OPTI SPARK OR SOMETHING ELSE PLEASE HELP FUSTRATED.

First thing I'd do would be to get a fuel pressure gauge on that critter, and tape it to the windshield. Monitor the fuel pressure while the car is misbehaving. If the FP drops, look for a problem with the fuel pump, etc. If not, look for an ignition-related problem, which may or may not be Opti-related.

if it is your Opti, it would most likely be the high voltage components, ie the cap&rotor. Since your problems occurs at high RPM's, carbon tracking inside a high mileage cap can cause misfire.
