Default 2 MPG !!! Help!!!

I just recently replaced my distrubtor gear. I set my #1 piston TDC before I re installed the distrubtor. I think I got the timing close to where it was orginally set. well i've dirven the car 50 mile over this weekend and I've gone through a half tank of gas. My car has never consumed this much gas. I did change my rear gear from 2.73 to 3.73 and my gas milage hasn't droped no where near what it is now.
Can anyone give me some feed back on what could cause this.

My Mods: 383 stroker, dart pro1 alum. 180cc heads, eldelbrock hi flo base intake, comp roller cam 474 lift, 1.6 int/ 1.5 exh RR, stock plenum ported to match 58mm TB, ECU chip by Avin.

Check your base timing and set it as specified by Alvin. Then make sure your EST wire is reconnected.

RACE ON!!!

You could be off a tooth on the distubitor gear. Make sure the rotor is at the #1 cylinder and do as CFI described if you haven't. My assumption is it is running rich...

50 miles <==> 1/2 tank of gas!!!!

you must be smelling raw fuel going out your tailpipe, or black exhaust...with an very rich AFR ratio like that, what are your symptoms at idle, acceleration, cruise??

I've taken my car to the track twice last week (best pass on a 1/8 mile 8.19 @ 89 mph), and from what my friends could see I had very very little black smoke during my run down the track. The fumes are really strong when I sit at a idle. My idle, and accelation is good. I'm going to back the timing down to 6 degrees. My fuel pressure is set at 43 psi. If I lowered the psi to say 36 or 35 will that balance the fuel mixture?

Less pressure in the fuel rail will definately reduce the amount of fuel which is forced through the injector while it is open. Sounds like a good place to start, 43psi sounds awefully high......what is your initial timing set at?

My initial timing was set at 6 or 8 degrees. I think it's 8*. I back the timing back to 8* it was at 10*. I didn't change the fuel pressure just yet. I was just at the track a few hours ago for test and tune. I'll adjust the fuel pressure tomorrow and drive it around

How do you adjust the fuel pressure?

I installed an adjustable fuel regulator with gauage. The fuel regulator is where the fuel pressure is adjusted. It's a good investment for easy tuning.
