Corvettes older than 1994 where equipped with a standard 700r4 or 4l60. The only electronic controls on these trannys is the torque convertor lockup. It is what you feel after the car shifts into 4th and what you feel unlock when you lightly tap the brakes going down the freeway.
Covettes 94 and newer come with a 4l60E where as shift points and firmness are controlled with electronic soliniods. Shift points and firminess are commanded by the PCM.
As trivial as this post might be for some I feel it is important as people are often disappointed when I tell them I cannot make the shifts firmer or move the shift points. Or on the other side of the coin people come to me with shift firmness/point problems when I really can't do anything if I tried to those things.

Have you always been in Charlotte? Or did you not have your location listed before? I'd have thought I would have remembered that if I'd seen it before. I'm just up the road near Hickory. Maybe I'll meet you at an event or something one of these days.
Thanks Alvin...I, for one, didn't know the shift points couldn't be changed on my 93 by burning a new chip...I bought my car with 3:73's in the Dana 36...it always shifted at 5900-6000 at WOT...now I have a Dana 44 with 3:73's, a Transgo shift kit and a rebuilt tranny and it still shifts right at redline at WOT...I have no idea why but me likey...he he

Check the SE section for RCG threads. It's an informal club that usually meets at the Quaker Steak & Lube near the big track on Speedway Blvd. on the 2nd Saturday each month. I hope to be at the next meeting, I haven't been able to get there for a while. They're a nice group of fun-loving guys and gals and all are welcome. Only one club rule, you must enjoy having a good time! If you do any racing, there's been a new club started recently to support that activity in the two Carolinas, too. Look for their threads in SE under CCRT. I'm in both groups.
What trick does Hypertech use on the 4L60E's in the 94 - 96 Vettes to get the shift firmness up with their Power Prgrammer? Which tables are they playing with? Main Line Pressure Table or Main Line Pressure Modifier Table?
