Default GMPP--Dana 3.45 gears???

Did or does GM produce 3.45 ring and pinion for a Dana 36 ? If they have, what are the part numbers?

Thanks,
JTHVETTE

I dont believe GM ever produced anything other then the 2.59 through 3.07 gears. There were a few other ratios in between those two. You can get a 3.54 , 3.73, and a 3.75 for the dana 36 in aftermarket parts but not GM.
The 3.45 was a dana 44 gear.

3.54 is a stock GM gear in the Dana 44. I have them in my early 1989 Z51 coupe.

The reason I am asking this is because there is set of gears on Ebay that the seller is saying they fit a Dana 36 .(#28001736410)
If that was correct, I would bid on them. From what I understand they are for a Dana 44. Check it out and let me know.

Thanks,

But the post was asking about a dana 36, not a dana 44.

I know, it was just an add on because your last sentence addressed the Dana 44. I thought I would point that out. 3.54 IS a GM gear in the 44.

GM supplied (made by Dana) both 3.45 and 3.54 gears for the Dana 44. The lowest factory gears for the 36, was 3.31:1. There are aftermarket 3.54 gears for the Dana 36, but no 3.45's for the 36, that *I* have ever heard of.

RACE ON!!!

Yeah, Dana produced the 3.45 D44s for GM, but I don't know of any produced since then. The aftermarket does not offer any 3.45s for either rear end, as far as I know. I had to get my 3.45s used.

I don't know about you guys but I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference in a 3.45 and a 3.54 on the street.

The 3.31 was an option in the 84s only. Believe it or not, you can still get them. Motive has them listed in their catalog (http://www.motivegear.com/pages/cata...ffCat_2001.pdf - page 14). I'm assuming though that these are for the 3.x series rears...
