Hey guys I've posted a couple all ready and I finally got the hub off or my car and I'm on my way to getting the new cam in my LT4. The lower timing gear on the crank looks like it is pressed on. How do I get it off? I appreciate all the help I have had so far.

Also if anyone else reads this or you read it again STL...how do you set the lashing. All the other site says is zero the lashing and +1/4. How do you do that? It wasnt really specific.
With the #1 piston at TDC compression stroke adjust the intake valves on 1,2,5,7 and exhaust 1,3,4,8. Then rotate the engine one revolution with #6 at TDC and adjust intake 3,4,6,8 and exhaust 2,5,6,7. I use 1/2 turn past 0 lash.
To find 0 lash I slowly tighten the rocker and move the pushrod up and down until 0 lash.
You are on top of all of it. . I have the hot cam installed and now its put back together time. Thanks for all your help. I will update later on when its running.
These posts make me feel all warm and fuzzy. I remember clearly the day I installed my first cam and had no idea how to do it. And I didn't have help from a forum like this, there was no internet then.
Dam good thing I didn't ruin that 305, I lashed the valves while they were at overlap. Somehow that made sense to me at the time, of course the valves never seated and the starter spun that bad boy over with great zeal.
