I'm not aware of any self-tapping bolts in the rear end. Are you talking about the cover to differential case bolts? If so, you'll need a manual for the sequence. Torque should be 30-35 depending on bolt location. This does not count one camber bracket bolt on either side. I used to have a link to the sequence and other info but no more.
I have a manual right here but I'm not sure what bolts you are referring too. If CK has it right the torque spec is 30 ft. lb for bolts 1-5 and 35 ft. lb for bolt 6-7.
The pattern looks like something like this:
4.........5
3..........1
7....2.....6

He's talking about the C-beam bolts. They are self-tapping because a new housing has no threads. I know this, because I recently bought one, but can't help w/the torque specs as I have yet to swap out my D36. Sorry, maybe someone else can help. Dave, where are ya?
