I'm looking for a OBDII scanner for my 96LT4 that is laptop based. I have a new laptop, just usb ports but I could get a usb->serial adapter if I have to.
What is good software and hardware for this?
I plan to just be scanning, I will be using it on my car and my friends LT4.
I did a search, and Autotap seems like the best option, but I just wanted to check in here first.
All the 95 cars had the OBDII connector, but apparently only some of them had the OBDII computer, the rest had the OBDI. (Thats my understanding, but since I have a 96, I honestly never payed that much attention to the details).
Another option is to check out EFIlive. They are super nice guys and they are offering discounts on the scanner only.
Even yet another option is to check out monodax sp? they are working on a scanner for tunercat boxes (if your lucky enough to have one before it was sold to JET)
