Default Nose emblem question

I recieved both of my emblems today and am curious about the nose emblem. The gas door one has 2 bolts and double sided tape. The nose emblem has nothing. Is it just stuck on with double sided tape aswell? Thanks

No tape on the nose emblem, just 2 self-tapping push nuts.

The previous owner of my '94 put different emblems on the car than what came on the car (has actual chrome emblems instead of the black). I just had some hood paint work done and the painter said that it was most likely that I would need to replace the emblem.

Lo and behold, the emblem I have had no double sided tape and it instead actually screwed into the hood. So they were able to re-use it. I think I like that concept better. I have another vette that I want to use the same exact emblems on...I wonder where I can get the same exact set? Sorry for the hijack, but any ideas appreciated...

No they screw on just like the back emblem but you'll be lucky to get 2 full turns out of it as they cinch the nut to the hood. Be CAREFUL!!! Let me emphasize that part that you don't lose them otherwise they are gone for good in that little cavity. Put a little tape or something sticky like a booger or some sealant inside your socket when you go to tighten them on so that they stay on the socket and don't get lost. Take your time and you'll be fine. I lost one of the nuts and had to improvise. Good luck!

If not secured with the nuts, the front emblem will depart the car at 97 MPH! This has been confirmed.....twice.

They are hidden up in these holes just below the Bowling Green badge under the hood.

Use some good two sided tape in a small socket because if you drop the nuts they're gone. You'll see what I mean.

I bought GM emblems for my 85. Both were made out of cheapy pot metal.

The front one had two pegs that the speed nuts would thread onto. No adhesive though.

The rear one had the sticky foam adhesive and two threaded parts the nuts screwed onto.

These both matched the original ones that came on the car.

When I replaced them on my 94 the front and rear both used tape and nuts. When I put the new ones on I just used the nuts so I can take them off if needed to clean/wax around them. Took me forever to get the old tape off !

Nevermind guys I actually found them. They must have fallen in between in the hood when I pulled the emblem off.

when i replaced mine, i removed any 2-sided tape on the new emblems. that way, each time i wax the car, i remove the emblems with ease..........this alleviates the aggravating removal of wax at the emblem area and leaves a nice clean result every time.

I just left the backing on the tape so it isn't stuck down.
