Default Pulled first code in my C4, questions.

Pulled my first code today! (I guess I shouldn't be happy, but Im just so excited about my new 90 vette )

We were on our way home (after a night out) and coming up a hill the Service Engine Soon light came on and stayed on the whole way home.

It probably has nothing to do with it but the check guages light has been on since I have had the car (even though all guages are well within normal operating ranges).

I pulled only one code: 32 (EGR system). I used this very helpful site for pulling the code: http://www.corvettebuyers.com/c4vettes/ecm.htm

Since the '90 model doesn't have an EGR switch, I take it that a bad connection would be the most likely problem.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this code and what the problem turned out being?

Cheers,

cosmic

Have you done or are there any known exhaust mods?

I would start by checking the connections and testing the solenoid. If you have a 90 FSM it will spell it out for you.

Completely stock exhaust system.

Only other thing is I changed the oil today, although that is completely un-related.

I have the helms manuals so i will check out the egr valve/solenoid in the morning.

Default Update

Just a quick update, I went for a short drive this morning and the Service Engine Soon light was off (and stayed off).

I will still do as suggested - check the connections and solenoid.

Thanks guys
