Where is the ccm located
The CCM is below the radio, well, in that general area.
You really need a Helm Factory Service Manual when you start getting into problems of this nature.
I know I need to get one. Im an old fart and keep saying its not fun to work on cars anymore, but I just cant seem to help myself. I get an intermitant service ASR light, the display showes a code 41 in CCM diagnostics. Which is loss of communication ECM, so my thought is a dirty connection or ground.

I'm currently going through this right now with my 92. Same code 41 etc.
Save yourself some trouble and clean the grounds for the CCM and ECM first before digging into the dash. The CCM is not easy to get out.
The grounds for both is located right above the oil filter and next to the digital oil temp sending unit on the side of the block. There is a large bolt that holds a negitive battery cable and 3 large internal computer grounding wires in place here.
Mine was extremly dirty and is definitly the cause of my problems. After cleaning it things have gotton much better but I'm still getting some slight intermittent problems. I think these are actually coming from the wired connectors themselves as they are also very dirty. This is definitly the source of my problems though.
Any ECM codes? Any EBCM codes? If the CCM is throwing the C41, it would lead me to believe that the EBCM (ABS/ASR) is failing to send info or poll upon request, versus, the CCM causing it. If the CCM causes the code, I don't think it would throw a code on itself, it would manifest in the module that was trying to talk to it. Follow?
I would pop the lid on the drivers side storage bin (EBCM) and check there, first... it will be helluva lot easier.

Thanks I think you are on the right track. The whole saga started a few months ago with an intermitant failier to start. Turn the key she fired right up then in about 1 to 2 seconds she would stop. If you pushed the key to the crank position no restart. Then I determined that if you turned the key off and restarted she ran fine. Once started no indication of an issue. The I noticed that every time the no start happened the service asr light was on. SO now if you turn the key to on and wait for the bulb test to finish, if no asr light is on she starts fine, if it is on trun the key off and try again.
