Which kind of fusible link do I need for the fusible link that links the fuel pump relay and the oil pressure switch in a 1985? the sooner the answer the better
The manual calls for a .5 orange fusible link, however when I went to NAPPA to get one, much to my and there surprise it was black in color, they looked it up to confirm. Worked for me. Just go to NAPPA and ask them to help you get the right one. There are two different types, one has a short fusible link with a connection and short wire, the other type is wire that is all fusible link. I chose the all fusible link and spliced it in. If I remember correctly it's recommended to use only 6 inches max.
Went out and checked the fusible link wire I used. NAPPA # 85768, it's actually fusible link wire 16 gauge,
I used 6 inches and since it was black I bought some red tape there also and wrapped it with that...for future identification.
