Very possible. The question is, for how long? I wouldn't build anything that stout w/o putting the 'right stuff' in as a foundation. I have this little quirk, I like my engines to last. And they do.
Heads/cam, headers, 4.10 gears, good tune, sticky tires, and a strong clutch will get you there.
With, 355 rwhp my heads/cam stock bottom end LT1 was running 12.3x's @ 115-116mph, and that was with a crappy 1.90 60'. Now with 20 more rwhp and better traction, I'm hoping for high 11's.
Oh, I know the power of those supercharged Fords, I have a 2001 Lightning.
Forum member RichS ran 11.8@118 with ported LT4 heads, LT4 hotcam, exhaust, 4.10 gears (I think) and tuning. I think his car dyno'd in the 370rwhp range
I think ported heads/intake, aggressive cam and 4.10 gears, headers and stickey tires you can be there. Im running mid 12s with LT1 vette with ported heads, intake, emmissions freindly cam, headers, 3.73, 2400stall. Im struggling with traction consistantly getting 1.9 60' times. Its is doable!
The tuner that I have been talking to about implementing a few more mods on my new to me LT4 seems to think that with the nitrous setup that he is recommending that the car will be capable of breaking into the 10's in the quarter on spray (with a strong clutch) and that it will run steady in the 11's as it sits. Longevity is a concern of mine, but he is assuring me that with the right kit and accessories that it will do the trick and actually complement the compression where forced induction would really be dangerous and almost counterproductive at least on the stock bottom end. If he is wrong, well, then I have a reason to put together a nasty shortblock I guess, hehe.
Course all that is pure speculation till I get to the track and it runs some numbers, but I can assure you that it is a hell of a lot of fun to drive regardless.
I have run 11.96 @ 118 mph, in my lt4, its a 383 with, with ported lt4 heads, intake, long tubes, 58mm tb, centerforce clutch, 3 inch exhaust all the way back, .570 lift cam. Traction is an issue though. It has gone 10.8's on a 200 shot too!!!!!!
Without going into the bottom end you could switch heads to something like trickflow to lower compression and then add a blower such as vortech. Otherwise its going to be hard to compete with the modified 03 cobra on power. Your 460rwhp probably put you well into the 11's on street tires and ill bet with trap speeds above 120 mph.
I dont have much as far as motors but as you I have just switched from a 03 Cobra to a L98 car. I may not be able to do 11s anymore but man the car just feels stuck to the road so much better then the Cobra.
You might not be able to match the Cobra at the same PFP(price for power) ratio but, the second you drive it you will be stuck in it.

funny thing is before i bought my cobra, i had a 86 vette, l98. i really do miss the handling of it. but if i could get the handling and the power, then im happy

Go to the "C4 For Sale" section and check out my '92 LT4 383. It should be good for 460 RWHP and easily mid to low 11s.
550 HP ALL ENGINE '92 6 speed--$13,500 (delivery possible).

All on the original stock bottom end.
My buddys looking for a 03 Cobra if he sells his 96GT. His brother has a 99 (I think). I thought about getting one, but needed a truck so I bought a Lightning. Nice looking cars.

What about the drivetrain??? Clutch, rear end, universals, half-shafts, etc. ????
I would think high 11's would start breaking things real quick.....
I am trying to decide how hard I can hit mine now that I have drag radials that actually hook.....so far color me chicken.....my drive train is stock except for the 4.10 gears..

At the time I had the dualmass flywheel with a centerforce dual friction clutch, 4:10 gears, Drag radials, stock everything else. Back then I broke 2 posi's. One wore out, one broke the spiders. I break more running low 11's than high 11's-low 12's. Before the 396 the car was much more reliable racing. But ya got to pay to play
