I'm posting this here because there's much more traffic than scan/tune. Also posted on tgo.
I have the siemens #60 injectors. they are rated at #55 psi. if I'm running the fuel pressure at 43, shouldn't I be telling the ECU what they are flowing at THAT pressure?
I just have a feeling that the gen 7 can do better than what it is doing now. Right now it is rich across the board. When i auto cal the car the ve #s drop significantly which I'm guessing means the VE predictor was way way off. I have a hunch it might be because of the injectors. Right now the rail pressure is at 44, and in the ecu i told it I have #60 lb injectors.
I would think if you are running a 60# injector at a lower than advertised fuel pressure that it would act as a smaller injector, and if your injector constant was set at 60#'s it would be lean. But, maybe it is the opposite.
Also, I know you are running a high rpm/high horsepower engine. But, isn't 60# injectors a little overkill. Seems like tuning would be alot easier with a smaller injector.
We bought them quite some time ago and racetronix insisted these injectors are far superior to any gm accel delphi etc injectors. They have the ability to flow huge amounts of fuel and at the same time can meter fuel better at lower requirements. I noticed a few weeks ago Lingenfelter now offer these injectors and praise them. I still feel you are right that tuning would have been easier with the #36 or #42 injectors we initially planned on using.
I realized i was mistaken and these injectors do flow #60 at 43.5 psi. If i might ask is this pressure supposed to be set with the vaccum line off the afpr ?
