I have a ZZ3 Crate Engine with a Super Ram Intake and a brand new rebuilt 700R4... I need a Torque Converter...
The Superram makes good power top end but seems pretty luggy bottem end. I am driving this car as a street car that may go to the track occassionally. It has 3.08s btw
Anyone with a similiar combo or any auto experience please give me some opinions...
2200-2400 stall would be a nice converter for you. Not too loose and should compliment the low end grunt pretty well.I just sold one to Matt and he was pretty thrilled with it. You could go higher, but it depend on what is more important. Driveability, 1/4 mile, heat produced etc all factor in.
I would suggest a 2400 stall. I have a "Proven 2200" in my '90 L98 and it totaly rock's. For your app I believe a 2400 might just do a perfect compliment to your package!

Does anyone reccomend a brand of Converter? I know with converters you get what you pay for and I dont want to cheap out on it, but I want to get something thats decent priced too
I have a local company that hand builds them for me. I have given up on the TCI and B&M type cheapo converters. My friends and I have had nothing but trouble with them. Maybe you have someone local that could take care of you? My guy is priced right (under tci and B&M) and first quality. I am lucky to have them.
I bought mine from Pro Torque and have been very happy with its performance. They are a sponsor of the East Coast Corveete Challenge series - you can likely get some contact info on them from the Corvette Challenge web site. They build all their own stuff so you can request exactly what you want and need.
I have an ATI 2600rpm torque converter and I like it. Nice street manners and locks up good when you get on it. Good luck finding what works best for you....there is alot of them out there!
