Check out thread by 95wht6speed. He just obtained 400 rwhp with his new mods. Basically heads/cam swap, headers, and other little supporting mods can get you there. Looking at 5 grand!

What is inexpensive? I would first go with gears and a headers/exhaust combo. When you start tearing into the engine, you're looking at big bucks (unless you do the work yourself).

If you're an automatic , do the gears and then see if the car is fast enough for you. Just changing gears from 2.59s to 3.45's should drop your et on a stock LT1 by 1/2 a second. Adda higher stall TC and there is another 3+ tenths in it. Drag Radials will be a MUST. .Trust me..

Remove the hypertech crap chip and get a REAL performance chip and a good exhaust and you should be in the 12's without even touching the engine..

If you're manual, learn to drive the car , get a real performance chip, good exhaust, shortthrow shifter and DragRadials. Should get you close to 12's that way.

ps. no such things as really inexpensive performance mods.. Most of the time inexpensive = broken parts down the line.
(Unless you hunt for deals and steals like I did with my '85.) LOL

Gears, TC, drive it for awhile and decide from there what you want and a budget.

The car will probably feel like it has another 100hp just from those two mods.
