Opti lifespans depends on many variables. My first one lasted 12,000 miles, the second less than 10,000 miles, my third is still running strong with 3,000 miles.
My GF's 95 TA has 143,000 miles on the original opti and still going strong.
The earlier optis (92-94) have a reduced lifespan because they aren't vented.
