I bought a new Serpetine Belt, from Auto Zone, because the other was showing wear.
I am wondering if these belts from Auto Zone are to the right Corvette Specs.
Reason I'm asking the Forum Memebers, is: I've now purchased (2) of these belts from Auto Zone...and for some reason these belts are not staying in the grooves on the pulleys...which in turn causes the belt to jump off the groove it was placed in, and rub the belt on the edges of the pulleys...thus causing it to begin to schread and tear.
Would appreciate your thoughts, and/or suggestions.
Fought this exact problem on my 75 with a March Serpintine conversion, on of your pulley's isn't quite lined up right, and I'd bet money it's the A/C eliminator you just installed! Take a straight edge, or an angle finder, and check the faces each pulley, the check runs between the individual pullies for a mis-allignment!
