Say I bought a used LT1 engine that didn't have the flywheell/flexplate. How could the engine be balanced with the new flywheel? Or, would the rotating assembly have to be rebalanced?
Also, if the LT1 had an M6 flywheel that was with the engine. But, the engine was going in an A4. Could the flywheel-flexplate be matched balanced?

You wouldn't have to tear down the engine engine to have the rotating assembly balanced. There is a factory procedure to insert the balance weights into a flywheel while in the car to achieve proper balance. Bluewasp has posted the procedure on here before. If you PM him he might email you a copy.
