87 hei, book i have says between the two terminals should be 500-1500 ohm,i have 838 steady, it says between each terminal and ground should be infinite res., i get nothing,i am trying to solve rough running @ all rpm, rich fouling plugs.
I just bought an AC Delco coil for my '87 from my Chevy dealership parts dept. They give me a discount, but the normal cost is $55.00 and it only took me 10 minutes to replace. Easy fix.
I don't think you mean you read nothing from each coil wire to ground. That would mean zero resistance. Your ohmeter probably reads the same as when the meter probes are held apart in the air which is infinity ohms and this is what should happen to a coil when measured from either coil wire to ground.
The ignition isn't involved if you are running rich.
