Problem - Start the car up today and the Service ASR Light comes on. It is not the Service ABS/ASR Light which I know can be caused by not enough brake fluid. What causes this one to come on? Most of the previous posts address the Service ABS/ASR Light problem.

Thanks in advance,
Dave
The last time I had this light come on and stay on the brake booster crapped out on me. The brake pedal also became hard to press down when stopping. Not saying this is your problem, just sharing my experience.
Mine came on when I took apart the front wheel hub, I think that I moved the ABS ring above the Bearing. Anyway, the hub was shot, put on new hub-gm- and the light went off.
Thats my experience with it.
I remember reading a post once about ABS sensors getting crud on thier connections thus have weak or readings. It might be worth a look. I had the low fluid problem when my abs/asr light came on.
MIne comes on when it gets real hot out, or driving the car to hot temps and not letting it cool down.
But since I have the LTCC system, we had to cut some wires in order for the tach to work, so I got mytach back, but lost the ASR(well only occasionally). Somehow, the tach filter is involved with this.
I have not taken anything apart lately that has anything to do with any of it but will have to investigate. My ET Streets usually set off the Service ASR/ABS Light but I have never seen this one go on before.
