Default Calculate header size

Does anyone have the formula and/or software to calculate header size? Primary tube and collector diameter and length.

Thank.

1 3/4 headers are more than enough for any motor under 434CI. Collector size at 3" works find, with about 12-15" length.

IF your under 383" I would run a 1 5/8 header without worries.
Ran them on a 406, lended mine 1 3/4" to corky and he only gained .05 on a pretty hefty 406 motor. Not much to write home about.

I just noticed in your sig that you do the Maxton thing. I want to get over there and check that out and then someday I'd like to make some runs there. Feel free to tell me more about your experiences, I'd love to hear more about it. I'm based near Hickory so it's very do-able for me.

Looks like I need 2" headers about 30" in length and 3.5" collectors with 12" length.

Thanks.

Maxton is a great experience. Search the forum on Maxton and everyone agrees. I'll be there in September trying for 205! Sonnyinva has been there many times also.

I've seen Sonny's posts on it and also visited the venue's website. Maybe I'll check it again and get their dates for the remainder of the year. And if so, maybe I'll see you there. I really want to visit it anyway. And I also want to scope it out in anticipation of running it at a later date. I think I could fit into the 150-175 MPH class. That'd probably be plenty of a thrill for this old guy!
