Ok guys I am going . My car really bogs until about 2500 rpm and then takes off. I have done the following:
New NGKs
New Taylor Wires
New Premium Cap & rotor
Adjusted timing to 6* BTDC(was 8*)
Cut air lid
New Air filter
Removed MAF screens
New Fuel Filter
Bottle of Techron
Adjusted TPS to .64
Removed Precats
Removed and cleaned TB
And the things still won't spin the tires, even power braking to 1700 rpm. Any thoughts or insight would really be appreciated. Thanks and enjoy the ride.
I think stock for your year was like , 1600
mine was 2100 o rso. When i had my tranny redone, they put ina 1600 and i had the same problem you did. I made the m give me a 2100 and now I'm a boasta, toasta, red light roasta.
Go out, stand on the brake and bring the revs up. when the brakes cant hold the car, thats the RPM your TC is spec'd to.
Well "Ft Collins, Co" is part of the problem, what does your altimiter read?? There are equations on my site to correct 1/4 mi data for baro and temp; you'll see what I mean.
Install a 160 deg stat & 160 deg aux fan sw; then wire it per my Tech Bulletin.
Cut back your spark plug ground electrode to the near side of the center electrode.
Add an AFPR and adjust fuel pressure for best WOT track times.
Relocate the MAT into the air filter lid, switch to a K&N filter.
Switch to a March underdrive crank pulley.
Install a hi-flow cat and good cat-back.
Upgrade the ECS to GM P/N 16038331, to avoid false knocks pulling ignition timing.
Consider adding a supercharger at about 6psi boost, you need to get more O2 comming into the intake.
I'm near sea level here in SE NY; if cruising on a cool dry day at say 25mph in 1st gear when I stomp it the rears just light up (stock tranny & 2.59 posi)! :yesnod:
