Default Refrigerant leak stopper.

Anyone have any experience with leak stopper in a can. I really don't want to rip out my evap coil, where I think the leak is. I went over the whole system with an electronic detector but came up with nothing. Last place is probably the evap. the leak stopper comes with a dye so it will help me find it. tried to find UV dye but could only find the whole setup which I already have, just no dye. Opinions?

Send me a PM with your address, I can send you some dye for the cost of shipping. Crap in a Can is just that, Crap. Double checked around the front seal of the compressor and the schrader valve?

Stick the Electronic Detector in the vents or remove the Blower Module or Resistor Pod from the top left side of the Evaporator Case and stick it in there - if it goes off, the Evaporator is leaking. Otherwise, frost on the windshield is a telltale sign - Refrigerant at normal atmospheres is about -32. Makes ice real quick. Otherwise, it's fairly common around here. Most discover it when max blower is less. Inlet side has a foam filter and compressor oil destroys it plugging it up. You can't see it without taking it apart.

If it checks out, take a good look at the lower half of the Condensor - hard to use your Beeper with the fan(s) cranking and the radiator and shroud in the way. You can remove the shroud and look for oil, but a dye works better in this area.

Don't forget to check for oil above the compressor on the hood which would indicate a worn out shaft seal - seems fairly common with the Nippondenso compressor. Here's a link to a guy doing the Nippo on his Porsche - case is a little different, but the seal's pretty much the same:
