I just ordered 24# inj, for my 93. Will that cause problems, because the stock are 22#?

Thanks!!

I was thinking the stock injector for a LT1 was 24#. I could be wrong.

No the stock for 94-96 LT1s is 24lbs, they were 22lbs before that as far as i am aware. If anything it will run slightly rich, depends what brand of 24lb injectors you bought, and what fuel preasure they are rated to flow 24lbs/hr at.

I know it is only 2# difference, but will it cause my car to run rich?
They are Ford 24# blue tops.

Possibly yes, i think the Ford injectors are rated for flow at a lower pressure, so they would possibly be around 26lbs/hr at stock LT1 fuel pressure.

As for running rich, the ECM may or may not be able to correct it. If it can, your computer will be telling you that you are getting far better fuel efficiency then you really are, and if it cant, you have a couple options, 1 is use an adjustable fuel pressure reg and lower the fuel pressure so they flow less fuel, or you can tell the ECM the correct flow rate of the injectors at the factory set fuel pressure with a new chip.

The only way you will really know is whack them in and try it. If it was me, id find out your fuel pressure, and find out the actual flow rate of your new injectors at this pressure, then have a new chip made so your ECM knows the actual flow rate.

I know for fact that my 86E came with 22# injectors and my 95 came with 24# injectors. I replaced the injectors in my mostly stock 86E with Accel 24#. It does in fact run pig rich from start up to operating temps/ idle to WOT. I am in a slow process to fix the problem. I purchase a AFPR and will install in a week or so. I have done tons of troubleshooting and some laptop scanning to find the problem since Feb. Nothing has shown up bad, and if the AFPR doesn't get me what I want then having my chip tuned for the injectors is the next and hopfully last step. My fuel pressure stays around 40 psi and hopefully by lowering it I can do some good. We'll see. Just something to think about, Randy93.

Yeah RRT, id have been tempted to do the chip anyway, you might be able to fix it all right there. That would probably be alot less work then installing an AFPR!!

Hello Casey, down under! RRT Vette: suggest you look at the Holley AFPR (Advance Auto charges $75 for the Holly) and stay from the Accel unit. They cost about the same but are very different is quality.

Depends on what injector you have. Whats the # on them?

I've seen some LT1 cars come with 22's, some with 24's. 17087325 are 22's for sure. Best to post your # and we can look it up.

As far as the ford thing goes. Some ford injectors seem to be showing a little higher than the 'rating'. Others are dead on. We covered this a while back on TGO: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/tp...ench-data.html

The Holley unit is the one I had purchased a few weeks ago and plan on installing it Friday. Thanks Sam.
