car died twice, HELP

car died twice, HELP
My 91 l98 auto. died 2x on me, once when entering a hi way from a dead stop and once when making a left turn after a red light. I tried to pull the codes but failed misseribly
seems the SES light is burned out as it will not come on even as it should when the engine is first started. both times i had the a/c cranked as it's been rather hot 
around here
so what else is new, right. With the a/c off it seems to run better (dosn't die on take off from a stop) but still has some hesitation. So..... how do i get to the bulbs behind the DIC to change them out and was i using the right terminals (A&B) to enter diagnistic mode?

By the way, i've gotten a lot of nice comments on the hard top from people at work, they even think the color complements the car. got 2 estimates, waiting on the 3rd shop to call me back, $400.00 from one $600.00 from the 2nd place
