Are you talking about a oil pressure sensor?

No, the oil level sensor. the oil pressure sensor and switch are on the back of the block, between the manifold and the firewall.

It is screwed in. Whatever you do, don't try to remove the pan with it in, cause all that will happen is the sensor will break.

put a big ole wrench on it, and loosen as usual.

It shouldn't really be that tight. I'm thinking it's something like an 1 1/8 or thereabouts. The trick can be getting the wiring plug disconnected from it first. You have to reach in a little with a small 90 degree pick or something similar and carefully pull up on the little doo-dad that locks the connector in place while gently pulling on the connector.
