Default fuel lines

I am replacing my water pump and was wondering if I had to put any teflon tape or thread lock on the fuel lines when they are put back on. Do I need to do anything other than tighten up the lines?

I just tightened them back up. 3 years later, no problems. You would want to visually verify that they aren't leaking with the engine running, of course.

If you want some piece of mind go ahead and use some pipe thread sealant or teflon tape. You won't hurt anything. If they where not leaking before, you don't need it. I don't know why you would want to use thread lock. All that will do is make it harder to loosen the lines next time they need to be undone. If you just tighten them snug, they are not going to come loose. The factory did not use thread lock on them.

In the several times that I've had my fuel rail off, I've just simply tightened the fuel lines back down and visually checked for leaks at the fittings when attempting to start the car.

These are all you need. No thread lock. No teflon. The o-rings must be a brown/tanish color. Ask for fuel o-rings, if you use the regualar black o-rings they will melt soon and start leaking.
