I have a 93 coupe and sometimes the "security" light will flash on and off while I get a "service ASR" light that stays on. when this occures the ingine will miss and sputter as I throttle up and down with the accelerator. If I fail to "jiggle" the accelerator, the engine dies. The Chevrolet dealer says he can not find the problem after three days. HELP!!!
The dealer should be able to use the Vetronix http://www.vetronix.com/diagnostics/tech1a/ Tech-1A scan-tool (all GM dealers should have one), or equivalent, to take a "snapshot" of the CCM (Central Control Module) or the ECM. This "snapshot" can be triggered on a particular trouble-code or any trouble code. With this snapshot, the trained technician should be able to look at several frames of data before and after the problem happened. By comparing these frames, the technician should be able to determine what is happening.

please let me know what happened to this problem my 92 is doing the same thing but it sometimes starts, but then there is sometimes it needs the gas pedal to be jiggled to stay running but even then it backfires and runs like ****. im on my third ccm everytime i put one in it works for a few hours then it stops communicating to the ecm and shuts the car down. but before all this i was getting the same thing as you security and sys would flash three times while driving or while trying to start it. it got worse and worse till know the car wont start and mechanic cannot get the ccm to talk to the ecm, im almost ready to replace the whole wiring harness in the car, the mechanics think its a short somewhere in the car that keeps frying the bcm, any thing at all on this subject would be helpful!!! thanks alonzoz28@yahoo.com
