Default Fuel pressure ?

I checked my fuel pressure seems a little strange to me, any help would be appreciated.

Key on/engine off = 41lbs
idling = 40
2500 rpm = goes to 42-3 and drops to 39lbs
engine off/key off - 10 min. after engine shutdown = 25lbs

Numbers are a little off, but in the ball park. What you are seeing is the vacuem regulator working. High with no vac (key on, not running.) Regulated to 39 at idle, and back up under acceleration (low manifold vac.) Back down when your man vac stabilizes. Down after sitting, a little below norm, but not a problem.

With engine idling, pull vac line off the fuel pressure regulator to simulate wide open throttle. Emphasis on "simulate." My '95 would show 44psi during such simulation.

I read on TPIS catalog that the LT1 stock performs better with the fuel pressure Down a bit from the factory setting. I have a Breathless Adjustable fuel pressue regulator on my 96 LT4 (my stock unit quit) so I can adjust as I install different mod's later on. E-mail TPIS or call them for the information.
