I just got my new Stewart water pump installed. When I got it there was a tag on the front that said that you have to bleed the air out of the pump when it is installed. Can anyone give a little more info on how this is done, or if it needs to be done?
The tag is probably refering to "Purging" the cooling system of air.
All you have to do is fill with coolant, run the engine (with the radiator cap off) until the thermostat opens and you no longer see any air bubbles in the radiator. Top coolant off after the thermostat opens.

Not to rain on your parade, but did you tighten down the rear plate on the waterpump? After installing mine, I warmed the car up and it immediately started pissing coolant out of the rear plate they installed.
No tag on my Stewart pump, but C4's have the water pump below where the coolant goes to when initially filling the cooling system so the tag info isn't necessary. You do need to burp the system and this is done by idling the engine to the opening temp of the thermostat with the rad cap off or on it last click and racing the engine slightly which will cause what looks like a full sytem to suddenly drop out of sight. Then fill the system to the filler, replace the rad cap and THEN let the engine speed go back down to idle.
