rpm change
I have a 90 coupe with a 6-speed, last year the ECM failed and my mechanic found a used one and installed it, car seems to run fine but I now notice that when I am on the highway in 6th gear at 70mph the tach reads approx. 3000rpm's.
I'm pretty sure that before the ECM was changed the tach would be around 1700 to 2000 rpm's at the same speed, can someone explain how this could happen and what I can do to correct this.

I am sure it is the tach and not the engine, the engine does not seem to be at 3000rpm at 70mph, also when I take off in 1st gear it revs up to redline much quicker than before and I'm not even stomping on it. Can the ECM be recalibrated or adjusted somehow without having to buy another one?. Thanks for answering so fast.
