hey guys. I took my car to get it smogged today and everything was fine other than the nox. It was about 1300 which is double what it needs to be. I needs to be under 711 at 25mph on the dyno. The car has passed before.
If my o2 sensors were bad, could this be the cause of it? My other option if this doesn't work is the retard the timing slightly or richen it up. I guess if it really came down to it, i could have a chip burnt to do those things, but it would be costly and a hastle.
When I've ran data master the last few times, the o2 readings have been screwy. The looked to the point that if they were correct and I was in boost, my engine would have been history and I wasn't hearing any audible detonation. This is what leads me to believe that the o2's may possibly be the culprit.
Any advice on what to try, what to look at or anything at all is appreciated. Thanks!
hey alvin. The problem occurs at about 1400-1600 rpm on the dyno for the 25 mph simiulation. I do have a msd btm on the car but it's currently wired up for in boost retard. Can't I switch this by grounding one of the wires to retard all the time?
Also, what is cyc? I'm not too familiar with the jargon. Thanks!
