Door sills
Need some info on restoring the sills on an '85. No catalogs list restoration items. I was wondering if I could use a later sill from maybe an 86-91?
This is the piece that runs from the back to the front of the door. Sort of looks like a flattened "U".

are they cracked? or just scratched and fadded. Ive read some articles about sanding them down and using sem trim paint with good results...Mine are light tan, im converting to black and am just going to repaint since they are in good shape

GRX, I received a flier in the mail about two months ago from CorvetteAmerica with this item in it:
This is the first time I've seen any company claiming to have these discontinued sills available. You might want to call them and find out if they actually have them. I'm only skeptical because there is no part number listed and they do not appear on the CorvetteAmerica.com website.

Thanks guys! I'll lookinto that flier info. My passenger side has a little crack near the seat belt area. I drilled the leading edge of the crack and filled it with some putty. Look adequate but I'd rather restore the part completely.
