Service ABS light
OK, My service ABS light it on.
1990 coupe L98
I disconnected the battery to clear the code. It went away.
Today I started the car, three weeks since I did so, and the light went back on again, and this time would not go off with a simple battery disconnect.
I noted that the front resivoir for brake fluid was a little light on fluid. I filled it, no difference.
I did replace the front speaker amps. Any wires up there I could have hit, screwed up. I did this amp replacment before the first time the light came on, and it went out.
If that's confusing here's the timeline:
1. changed the speaker amps (about three weeks ago)
2. Light went on (coincidence)?
3. disconnected the battery,
4. no problem, light went off, drove the car 300 miles, no light. Started and stopped the motor 4 times.
5. Started the car three weeks later
6. Light went on
7. Noticed the brake fluid was low, filled it, disconnected the battery
8. No difference
9. Light stays on.
10. Disconnected the battery overnight, not expecting anything.
